Let's Start Talking the Netcaster

Issue 30/08 27 July 2008 July 27, 2008

WELCOME

To all of those who are visiting with us today, we wish to extend a warm welcome to you.

SERMONThis morning brother Ravi Savari will speak to us on, “A Tale of Two Brothers” based on the story of Esau and Jacob.

The struggle between Jacob and Esau began right from their conception and birth. Although they were (fraternal) twins, Jacob and Esau were very different in appearance and personality. Esau was a “hairy man” while Jacob was a “smooth man” (Genesis 27:11). They were also each a favorite of one parent, a sure formula for trouble. Esau, from the Hebrew word pronounced ‘ay-sawv’, (meaning rough, or hairy) was the grandson of Abraham and Sarah. He was the slightly older twin son of Isaac and Rebekah. Esau was also known as Edom, (meaning red) he and Jacob (who God later renamed

Israel) formed one of the fiercest cases of sibling rivalry in all Bible history.
