Ephesians 4:1-6 I, therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you to walk worthy of the calling with which you were called, with all lowliness and gentleness, with longsuffering, bearing with one another in love, endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called in one hope of your calling; one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.
They strived to be obedient to the calling of Christ. They strived to take good care of the brothers and sisters who were hit with life’s struggles of poverty, sickness, and in some cases, age. There was never a soul who went hungry or who wasn’t helped in times of sickness. The elderly were always looked after when needs arose. When one struggled spiritually, there was always someone who diligently cheered him on with words of encouragement and truths from the Word of God. No one in this congregation ever had to worry about where his next meal came from or how he would pay his rent. You see, the brothers and the sisters truly became like a real family and always took notice of who was in need and made sure these needs were met. Someone was always willing to help. These great Christians knew what it was to sacrifice their time, their energy, their resources, and they truly knew what love was all about.
Galatians 6:9-10 9And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart. 10Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all, especially to those who are of the household of faith
