Message from our outgoing minister, Dino Roldan June 15, 2009
Dear Wangsa Maju Christians,
After 2 months of discussions, studies and prayers, we, the leaders of the church finally come out with much biblical focus in our service to God and His people. As to what the Bible teaches, we have narrowed our focus into four areas where we can effectively serve as one body of Christ. Here are the four areas that the Congregation will focus:
I. Edification: to prepare the saints for service
As this is one of the main works of the church to prepare the saint for service. It is every leader of the church to prepare all the members to attain the fullness. Paul has mentioned in Ephesians 4:12, “to prepare God’s people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up.”
Edification will help each member to prepare for their personal service to God in spreading the Gospel and helping the needy.
Bro. Victor Chong was unanimously voted to be the person in charge to prepare the curriculum for the Bible study classes with the help of teachers like bro. Philip Loh, and sister Sharon and others.
Bro. Steven Shee was also appointed to be in charge for all the fellowships and special gatherings like our monthly agape feast, camps and others.
II. Evangelism: proclaiming the Gospel to the lost
This is our response to the Great Commission of our Lord Jesus in Matthew 28:19, “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,”
This is the main reason why this congregation was established in Wangsa Maju primarily to reach out the students.
The men appointed bro. Philip Loh to be the man to oversee this work with the help of bro. C. B. Gan as the person in charge of the campus ministry which we are very much active teaching the students in English through our Let’s Start Talking program, English classes and Students Cell Group and others.
III. Benevolence: providing for the needy
It’s another work of the church to help the needy, by encouraging all members to be like the early Christians, to share what he has with others. We don’t discriminate other people we believe that we should be at service to all as Paul said to Galatians 6:10, “Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.”
Bro. Douglas Lee was unanimously appointed by men to lead this work.
IV. Worship: praise and thanksgiving to God
This is our offering to God to prepare ourselves as a living sacrifice holy and pleasing to him (Romans 12:1).
Bro. C.B. Gan is the one commissioned by the men to lead this avenue. He will be in charge of Sunday worship and other related activities. He is the person to schedule the speakers, song leaders, prayer leaders and servers.
God has given us these men to prepare us for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up (Ephesians 4:12).
I strongly encourage the family of the appointed men to be in full support of them.
I strongly encourage all members to find where you can be effective to work in these four avenues to serve God and his people. Remember that God put us in this family for specific function. Approach any appointed leader to offer your services.
Edification – Bro. Victor Chong Evangelism – Bro. Philip Loh Benevolence – Bro. Douglas Lee Worship – Bro. C.B. Gan
Make every effort to make God smile with you love, trust, obedience, praise and thanksgiving and your abilities.
Thank you for your cooperation.
Your co-worker for the Lord,
Bro. Dino Roldan
