Eat Smart, Be Active Source: Mark Hammitt April 5, 2009

McDonald’s recently announced that it would phase out the Supersize french fries and drinks by the end of the year! Why? “Not many Supersize fries are sold” according to a statement by the company. It also fits into the new McDonald’s “Eat Smart, Be Active” campaign. With the media centering in on the expanding waistline of America, many companies are paying attention to their menus and adding more nutritious food items.

Should we not also be concerned about our spiritual appetites? In a world full of so many choices we ought to pay careful attention to what we feast on spiritually. Hunger for God’s Word is needed!

While an extra large portion of physical food might not be healthy, Super-sizing our portion of God’s Word is the most healthy thing you can do!

We know that consuming God’s Word will allow us to remain faithful and strong! “For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.” (Hebrews 4:12)

Why not order a Super-sized portion of God’s Word by reading daily, attending all Bible classes, learning in worship, studying with others, and practicing what you learn every day? By Super-sizing your knowledge of God’s Word, your faith will also be Super-sized!

“And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus!” (Colossians 3:17)
